Eligible properties are owner-occupied single-family homes in CenterPoint’s service area with incomes that are at or below 80% of the area’s median income, scaled for household size.

Apply.

The HERO program is offered to homeowners with the qualifications listed below. Other
qualifications and/or program terms and conditions may apply.

• Owner-occupied single-family homes
• CenterPoint Energy is your natural gas provider in CenterPoint’s service area
• Income is at or below 80% of the area’s median income, scaled for household size

Program eligibility requirements:

• Have a household income at or below 80% of the area’s median income, scaled for household size.
• At least one (1) of the following documents can be used to verify income eligibility*:
  • • Last three months of pay stubs
    • W-2 form from the most recent tax year
    • Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) recipients – Notice of Decision document
    • Women, Infants and Children (WIC) recipients – Participant Summary document
    • Medical Assistance—document is Medical Assistance Health Care Notice
    • Social Security—document is Notice of Cost-of-Living Adjustment (COLA)

*Alternative eligibility will be considered on a case-by-case basis and in consultation with the Minnesota Department of Commerce.
